2026: The Year of the Fire Horse
With Charts for Each Lunation, Equinox, Solstice and Eclipse
What can be said about the upcoming year of 2026?
If I had to pick one chart to encapsulate the whole year, it is the Feb 17th Solar Eclipse chart below, which is also the New Moon for February.
This solar eclipse comes early in the year, and will be here before we know it. This eclipse’s visibility is limited to remote areas near Antarctica, so don’t rush to get your eclipses glasses. In the astrology of this eclipse, Pluto is the lead planet in a remarkable BOWL configuration. In a BOWL shape, all of planets are closely grouped together within 180 degrees of the circle. In this configuration, one outlier, retrograde Jupiter, acts as a focal point. But the aspect most astrologers have been talking about for quite some time in this arrangement is the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries. A conjunction is when two planets come together from Earth’s vantage point, creating a blending of symbolic meaning. Saturn and Neptune “come together” every 36 years with some rather noteworthy historical correlations. Saturn symbolically represents the STRUCTURES of society, while Neptune represents the nebulous, DISSOLVING power of the Neptune’s vast domain, the ocean.
Looking back at recent history, many of us can recall the last conjunction of Saturn with Neptune in Capricorn: November 1989, marking the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the Soviet empire. What seemed indestructible, prior to that time, decomposed precipitously — a chain reaction that eventually took down the whole Soviet Union. 1
2025 was a transitional year astrologically speaking, wrapping up left over business of the election year of 2024 in the US. Planets waffled in and out of placements that were signatures of 2024, while at several points in 2025 we got glimpses of what is to come in 2026. But, by this point in February 2026, we see something dramatic shift.
The retrogrades in the latter half of 2025 will come to an end as Saturn and Neptune form this exact conjunction on the World Point of zero degrees Aries.
By late April 2026, Uranus moves into the sign of Gemini and adds speed and unpredictability to the pace of technology. Uranus in Gemini is also a strong indicator for political volatility for the US. In addition, Pluto’s stay in Aquarius stirs a restlessness among the people. However, with Mars in Aquarius from Jan 23 to Mar 2, there is an extra emphasis on the good of the people.
In comparing the Summer Solstice and Fall Equinox charts, it seems the fall of 2026 may be a more settled time compared to the spring. Overall, 2026 will start with some significant changes in late winter with this eclipse and the integration of these changes seems to last through the Summer Solstice at the very least. The fall seems a quieter time period overall, but the year of the Fire Horse will certainly begin fast and furious with this eclipse.

I like The Sun Moon conjunction in Aquarius with Venus in Pisces conjunct the north node. Those would suggesst some compassion and a new way to deal with the future.
