What areas of you life have reached their expiration date? Maybe people would rather watch Netflix or pop a gummy, but this week’s cosmic line up isn’t really calling for avoidance right now, but rather the deepest listening.
As Venus Retrograde meets the Sun at 0 Scorpio, we all have an opportunity to audit our emotional storehouse. The Venus Cazimi illuminates deeper questions of value and worth for us. This is a time for revising past questions that need closure, those unfinished emotional stories that need the wisdom of hindsight and retrospection to bring healing and closure.
Adding to this, Mercury will also retrograde in Scorpio on Oct 24, contributing to the introspection, retrospection, memory-retrieval, and giving a seeming slow down. Along with this we will have a Moon-Saturn conjunction. Saturn brings some seriousness and sobriety to the emotional realms of the Moon, clearing away illusions. Saturn brings heaviness and anchoring, asking us to look with maturity at our boundaries and commitments and do an internal audit. It could be an ideal time to organize the calendar, the schedules, the finances, and other responsibilities. It could also be an ideal time to get rid of unnecessary obligations.
The square with Mars in Leo (ego), while we have the air trine with Pluto in Aquarius with Uranus in Gemini gives a heartbeat (Leo-heart, pulse) and air flow to new ideas and new infusion of thought. Use it.
Mine for Gold: A Few Honest Self-Assessment Questions
To do the Scorpionic and pull up treasures from the hidden depths is not an easy thing to explain to someone else. It would mean something different for each of us. Most of us would like to avoid the dark, hidden realms, and avoid wading into the deep, dark swamp where the dragon resides. But we have to sit alone with the smelly mess until we figure it out to bring up a nugget of gold. To wrestle with the Scorpion is to go to the depths of stagnant water (emotions that aren’t flowing) and deal with the poison of the stinger.
What is your unspoken truth?
What is your current inner dialogue pointing towards?
To do the Scorpionic work and pull up treasures from the hidden depths is not an easy thing. Like a scorpion that naturally glows an eerie blue-green only when struck by ultraviolet light in total darkness, a Scorpio transit acts as that exact spectrum—suddenly illuminating what was buried in the shadows of our daily lives. We have to go into those dark, hidden realms.
Ten questions that might help generate some of that inner dialogue or inner audit needed at this time:
Where am I spending emotional energy on something that has run its course?
What unfinished story or regret do I need to seek internal closure for?
What is an unspoken truth or boundary that I have been avoiding because it requires change?
Where have I been undervaluing my contributions?
What obligations are draining my vitality?
What self-deception am I ready to let go of?
Where do I desire external control or perfection?
What vulnerability is that control-seeking masking?
What am I tolerating out of habit?
If I stopped forcing my desired outcomes, what is my heart truly asking for in the next chapter of my life?
Any of these could be a helpful entry point leading you back to yourself and questions relating to your newly revised values and worth.
Scorpions don’t hunt by sight; they sit completely still in the dark, using microscopic sensory hairs to pick up the faintest vibrations on the ground. As Venus Retrograde meets the Sun at 0° Scorpio, we are asked to do the same listening.
SHED WHAT IS DEAD
Several years ago I acquired a class pet for my 5th graders, a CORN SNAKE we named Iris. When she is about to shed her skin she gets very passive and still, and coils up to rest a while. Her skin becomes waxy in its appearance and her eyes turn from black to metallic. She always shed in the middle of the night. I have never been able to catch her in the act of shedding. When she emerges from it, her skin is shiny and new, more brilliant than before. Working with Scorpio energy isn’t about wallowing in the depths, but about clearing what is dead so that new life can come forth. It’s serious work. Scorpio is a sign so closely related to themes of life-death-rebirth and TRANSFORMATION.
Just like the snake shedding its skin, true transformation happens in the quiet, hidden spaces when no one is watching. May we all honor the truths we uncover.

Thought provoking, Laura!
